Unlike ordinary wood, thermowood does not contain natural resins or formaldehyde. It has a pleasant scent, is lighter, and has a subtle, smooth surface. After the entire treatment cycle, thermowood acquires its typically warm caramel color. The surface can be safely exposed to outdoor elements, although over time, natural UV radiation will change the color to a grayish hue.
Thermowood is indispensable in environments with dramatic temperature and humidity fluctuations, making it an ideal material for outdoor cladding, decking, balconies, fences, and saunas. Due to its aesthetically pleasing appearance, eco-friendliness, and dimensional stability, thermowood is becoming increasingly popular in contemporary interior design.
We produce thermowood laths/beams and various siding profiles.
